While managing the Installed Microphone portfolio, the challange was set to create a new product to enter the segment of modern working equipment. As beyerdynamic has a long record of supplying audio conferencing systems for installed applications, Phonum was a completely new approach in all regards.

This product, beeing designed and engineered in Germany, was moved to Chinese partner for assembly, which also posed many challanges during the development process, but was managed well by the team, with satisfying results and customer receptions. Especially the DSP processing and overall sound capabilities, set this product apart from its competitors.
